As Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn has started on May 14 and it’s time to get ready! In this guide, I’ll show you the Double Swing Barbarian build and you can take these into other variants you like such as the Dust Devil, for you to reach Level 50 and above. With sufficient Diablo 4 Gold, this build will allow you to deal massive damage and breeze through the game with any difficulty.
Gear & Aspects
I will go over the best aspects for this build and make it simple. Ideally, the Aspect of Disobedience, Aspect of Might, or the Iron Blood Aspect is going to give you damage reduction and, in some form or another, help you from dying and running through that early game content a lot more consistent.
The Ghostwalker Aspect for your boots to increase movement speed is definitely important. Now, some of the big aspects you want to include any resource aspect for your rings, like the Aspect of the Umbral and the Aspect of Voracious Rage.
For amulet, if you can find Bear Clan Berserker’s Aspect, this is going to make it so killing an enemy while Berserking has a 40% chance to increase the Berserking to all the Brawling skills. We’re going to be Berserking all the time and this will help us reset all our Brawling skills non-stop infinitely. Additionally, things like the Aspect of Ancestral Charge will boost our Charge, making it a lot more powerful.
The Veteran Brawler’s Aspect means each time a core skill deals direct damage to an enemy, it increases our Leap and Charge damage. The Brawler’s Aspect ensures that enemies damaged by our Charge will actually explode and do a lot of damage to surrounding enemies. This is also great considering we’re going to be consistently recharging that Cooldown Reduction. Lastly, the Aspect of Retribution gives us a chance to stun enemies, providing procs and other Diablo 4 items for a lot of our other damage abilities.
Gem Setup
Make sure you just use Diablo 4 Sapphire gems for your weapon, Ruby gems for your armor pieces, and Skull gems for your jewelry, or Diamond gems or whatever resistance you really need. The Double Swing Barbarian is extremely good at early game and mid game boss fights, and it’s going to give you an advantage, especially in some of the Capstone Dungeons early.
Skill Tree
First, let’s touch on the skill tree. We start with the Lunging Strike for our primary basic attack, all the way to Combat Lunging Strike to gain the additional Berserking grant. This grant is crucial to maintain for increased damage and overall movement speed.
Next, we max out our damage by taking 5 out of 5 for the Double Swing, along with enhancing to gain Fury and the Furious Double Swing, granting 2 extra Berserking seconds when cast during Berserking in Diablo 4 Season 4.
Moving on, we invest in Outburst for Thorns and additional Thorn damage for bonus max life, and the Tough as Nails to increase our overall Thorn percentage, allowing us to apply the Bleed effect to enemies freely. We then increase our movement speed greatly by taking 3 out of 3 for swiftness, which significantly helps with our clear speed.
Leap and Charge are essential abilities, and we enhance them to potentially stun enemies and reduce their cooldowns, respectively. After Leap, we enhance it for Cooldown Reduction and Power Leap to gain Fury upon hitting an enemy. Aggressive resistance provides damage resistance, while prolific Fury boosts Fury Generation by 18% during Berserking.
The Battle Fervor ensures constant Berserking sustain by activating it when Leap or Charge damages at least one enemy. The Pit Fighter and Steel Grasp enhance our damage to close and distant enemies and make enemies vulnerable for 3 seconds, respectively.
Wrath of the Berserker is our main damage and skill for Fury Generation, which we max out for maximum effectiveness. The Dualist provides attack speed increase and increased damage for one-handed weapons, while unconstrained extends Berserking duration and increases bonus damage, providing significant boosts to Berserking damage and duration.
Weapon Expertise
Once you unlock your Technique slot, make sure that you are using the Two-Handed Axe Expertise. This is going to give you increased damage and increased critical strike chance against vulnerable enemies. And because we’re making enemies vulnerable consistently with the Steel Grasp, this is going to up our damage very heavily.
Leveling Tips
As for leveling with the Double Swing build, firstly, skip the campaign and focus on completing the Diablo 4 Season 4 quest line. This will not only provide you with additional powers but also help you reach around Level 30. Once you hit Level 30, the key to leveling up rapidly is to engage in Helltide Farming.
Participate in all the events available and aim to increase your threat meter to summon more enemies. This method proves to be more efficient than repeatedly running dungeons. The Helltide event is considered the new meta for leveling, particularly effective when combined with the Double Swing or if you’re using a Twister or Tornado build with Double Swing.
Ensure you’re playing on veteran or World Tier 2 difficulty to benefit from a 50% bonus XP, as opposed to the 20% bonus in Season 4. Additionally, collect resources in Sanctuary and craft Elixirs to maintain a constant 5% XP buff. Stack all your seasonal blessings in the Urn of Aggression to maximize your XP gains, potentially receiving a 5 to 10% bonus even before reaching Level 50.
By following these setup and strategies and utilizing the recommended build described in this guide, you should easily reach Level 50 and beyond with your Barbarian in Diablo 4 Season 4.
