During the season of Lacrosse, many players make an impact on the game. These names include TD Ierlan, Ally Kennedy, Jessie Coffield, and Michael Sowers. Each of these players affects the competition and deserves their spot at the top of college lacrosse players.
Jessie Coffield
Jessie Coffield is an American television personality and sports journalist. She is best known for her appearances in Super Bowl ads. Aside from hosting T.V. shows, she also works for DraftKings, a global sports technology company.
Coffield’s career began as a sports journalism intern with the Boston Red Sox. She was later hired as a sideline reporter for the New England Revolution, a Major League Soccer team. The job involved putting together video segments for the team’s website.
After a few years as a reporter, Coffield became a co-host of the Draftkings show, The Sweat. The exhibition aimed to broaden the company’s digital reach and promote a national commercial spokeswoman for the sportsbook.
Coffield was named the team’s senior captain when she was a senior. However, a sports medicine specialist diagnosed her with six concussions. As a result, she was asked to stop playing Lacrosse.
Michael Sowers
Michael Sowers is one of the top college lacrosse players in the country. He is the son of David and Elizabeth Sowers and has two younger brothers. After graduating from Princeton, Sowers joined the Waterdogs Lacrosse Club. In his first five games with the club, he has already scored 47 points.
Michael Sowers is an outstanding player; his name has become synonymous with the Princeton program. During his time there, he scored 302 points and is ranked fifth in Ivy League history. His speed and dodger skills are apparent, but so is his ability to see the game before defenders.
Despite being sidelined for most of his first season with the Waterdogs, Sowers has fit into his role as a point guard. As a result, the team has reached the playoffs.
Emily Hawryschuk
Emily Hawryschuk played five seasons with the Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team. She has been one of the most dominant players in the country. Her career is marked by three seasons of All-ACC first-team honours and two of IWLCA’s first team. In addition to her impressive resume, she has won the Inside Lacrosse Clutch Player of the Year award.
Before her senior season, she was a member of the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. She was ranked as one of the top 25 players in the nation and was expected to earn the award. But an injury kept her out of the game for most of the year.
As a freshman, Hawryschuk was second on the team in goals and points. She also contributed several assists.
Ally Kennedy
Kennedy is a two-way midfielder regarded as one of the top players in the country. She has been a key contributor on the defensive side of the field, but her explosive style adds another dimension to the Stony Brook attack.
A native of North Babylon, N.Y., Kennedy played collegiate Lacrosse at Stony Brook University, where she was a two-time All-American. Her senior season included an NCAA tournament quarterfinal appearance.
Kennedy also served as a graduate assistant coach for the 2021 season. At the end of the season, she was named a finalist for the Honda Award. This honour is given to the best male and female college lacrosse players in the U.S.
In addition to her goals, Kennedy added 180 ground balls and 59 turnovers in her fifth year at Stony Brook. Moreover, she was a crucial part of the Seawolves’ winning streak of 10 straight games.
TD Ierlan
TD Ierlan is a superstar in college lacrosse. He is a two-time All-American, an NCAA record holder, and a two-time finalist for the Paul Cantabene Award. In his senior season at Yale, he set records for the most faceoff wins, the most ground balls in a season, and the most wins without a loss in a single game.
TD Ierlan started playing Lacrosse in first grade. He grew up in Victor, N.Y., located 18 miles southeast of Rochester. When he was a teenager, he was the star of the Victor High School team. Eventually, he moved to Yale, where he was a four-year letter winner and an All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year. During his sophomore season, TD Ierlan had a stellar year. He was named an NCAA All-American for the second time, was an All-IVY League player, and was selected to the US Lacrosse First Team.
