THE HARDEST PART OF PREPARING FOR BABY NUMBER WAS CHOOSING THE RIGHT DOUBLE STROLLER.
There are SO many options. And they’re all heavier than I thought they would be. They’re giant. And expensive. The stores closest to my house just didn’t have quite the assortment I was looking for when it came to choosing the best double stroller for us. They each had between four or five options, and neither had the few I had actually heard good things about. So I was really excited when Buy Buy Baby said they’d be happy to help me find the right stroller for our family. The best part? They want to help you, too! Read on and I’ll walk you through the best double strollers by budget.
The day we bought our double stroller, I spent two and a half hours in a Buy Buy Baby store, with a saint of a man named Dex. He was more than patient with my million questions and my “I just can’t make up my mind” 8-months-pregnant self. In our time together, I was able to narrow down a list of top double strollers, the best double stroller for each budget and need, in hopes you might not have to spend as many hours researching.
Let me say, I had ZERO intention of even trying a side-by-side. To me, the tandem options seemed more compact, which I figured meant they’d be easier to fold and load into my car. #nottrue Dex talked me in to trying both and I’m so happy I did!
UNDER $200
GRACO® ROOMFOR2™ STROLLER | $149.99
Pros
1. Compatible with both Graco SnugRide Classic Connect & Click Connect Infant Car Seats.
2. It’s only 26.5lbs, making it light on the double stroller scale.
3. The price!
4. Four cup holders in total: Two cup holders on parent tray and the snack bar for child in seat has an additional two cup holders.
Cons
1. There is only one seat, and one standing platform – so only one child can sit – the other must stand. Ideal with siblings with larger age gaps.
2. Each area (the seat and the standing platform) supports up to 50lbs.
BABY TREND® SIT ‘N STAND® DOUBLE STROLLER | $179.99
Pros
1. Accepts most Baby Trend carseats without an additional adapter.
2. Folds up fairly easily.
3. The storage basket is a large and easy to access from the back or sides.
Cons
1. There is only one seat, and one standing platform – so only one child can sit – the other must stand. Ideal with siblings with larger age gaps.
2. Each area (the seat and the standing platform) only supports up to 40lbs.
3. The front seat is not compatible with other car seat brands other than Zobo.
4. Rear child trays are compatible with infant car seats from most major brands with the use of adaptors. The adapters are hard to find online. A con because they adapters are difficult to find online.

2. There are a ton of cup holders! 4 to be exact.

Cons
1. You can only use the standing platform if you remove the back seat and leave it behind.
2. Each seat supports up to 50lbs — which means it may not last as long when you have siblings that aren’t twins.
3. The foot rest for the front seat only has one position.
4. The front seat can only recline in two positions, which doesn’t include laying flat, since there’s a bar with two cup holders separating the two seats.
5. It’s 42 lbs, which doesn’t make it easy to lift in and out of your vehicle.
CONTOURS® OPTIONS® ELITE TANDEM STROLLER | $399.99
Pros
1. It moves well.
2. Lots of storage space in the bottom.
3. It’s pretty!
4. The foot rest for the front seat has multiple positions.
5. Both of the seats can fold just about all the way flat.
Cons
1. Each seat supports up to 40lbs — which means it may not last as long when you have siblings that aren’t twins.
2. It was REALLY hard for me to fold. You have to have the front wheels turned to the side for it to be able to fold flat. And maybe my pregnant belly was in the way, but I had the toughest time trying to get those darn wheels to sit sideways at all.
3. At 34lbs it isn’t light, and not being able to fold it flat, I found it really hard to lift.
4. It only comes standard with one cup holder, to have a snack tray/cup holder for either of the child seats, you have to purchase it separately. ($29.99)
5. You have to purchase an adapter to make your infant car seat compatible. They sell adapters for Chicco, Britax, Graco, Maxi-Cosi, Cybex and Nuna car seats. (Between $29.99-$39.99)

Pros
1. TONS of storage in the basket underneath – you can access the basket from the front (where your child’s legs would rest).
2. Weighs 29lbs – SO light for a double stroller.
3. Never-flat plastic wheels
4. Both seats can fully recline.
5. Large zippered pockets behind eat seat.
6. Height/angle adjustable handlebar
7. Infant car seat compatible when paired with a double infant car seat adapter kit (sold separately)
Cons
1. Each seat supports up to 50lbs — which means it may not last as long when you have siblings that aren’t twins.

4. Lots of storage that is easier to access than the storage under the tandem strollers.
5. Seats can recline all the way flat.
6. Pushes really easily.
Cons
1. Foot break (instead of the hand break like the GT version).
2. Must purchase both a Belly Bar Double ($39.95) and a snack tray/cup holder ($29.99) separately, if you want your toddler to have a place for snacks/a drink.

1. The never-flat, all-terrain rubber tires make for a really smooth ride.
2. The handle bar adjusts to three different heights.
3. The weight limit is for the entire stroller (100 lbs) instead of an amount split between the two seats.
4. SO easy to fold down.
5. Lots of storage that is easier to access than the storage under the tandem strollers.
6. Hand break (vs. foot break) makes it easier on your shoes (or your toes if you’re wearing sandals!).
7. Seats can recline all the way back.
8. Can buy glider board to attach to stroller for toddler to catch a ride on. ($79.95)
Cons
1. It weighs 34lbs, so it was still really heavy for me, which made it hard to lift.
2. While I found it easy to fold down, I didn’t necessarily find it easy to actually get it to lock shut. This made it hard to lift.
