Although most of them do not offer an MBBS degree, some do. Their degree is called MB (Bachelor of Medicine), in these universities, students have to study HSK4 and qualify in one year. HSK4 is a one-year Chinese language course, so it is very important that you qualify, otherwise you will not be able to attend the second year to continue the medical class.
Disadvantages of Bilingual Universities
The tragedy is that many students who don’t work hard can’t qualify, and if they fail they are expelled from the university and then stay in hotels to seek new admissions (most of them hide from their families). Bilingual universities teach medicine in English, but there is a risk that they may revert to the Chinese language. As in the past, many universities taught in two languages and taught medicine in English for the second year but reverted to Mandarin and all students had to study Mandarin or re-enroll in another university.
