Sarasota, FL – Only Tiger Woods’ own presence could add to the grandeur of Southwest Florida’s latest PopStroke.
One of the greatest golfers of all time is yet to attend his grand opening ceremony of his golf and entertainment concept’s newest location. But his footprints are still everywhere.
At his PopStroke, a golf and dining concept that Woods founded with his partner Greg Bartoli, golf legends are actively involved in the design and perfection of the course, says Woods of his TGR Ventures Chief Financial Officer Chris Hubman said. “This is our third location, but each hole is unique, and each hole is more than just a replica from one city to the next,” said Hubman. “He’s so dedicated. People will be amazed at how much time he puts into thinking about it, giving his input and fine-tuning the final product.”

With Wood’s blessing, PopStroke officially opened its store in Sarasota, Florida on Thursday, April 28th. Two 18-hole golf courses, ice cream parlor with milkshakes, children’s playground, al fresco dining, foosball tables, corn hole, and three bars, one of which is on the rooftop exclusively for guests 21 and over .
Families looking for a weekend activity, couples young and old looking to meet up, groups of friends looking to party, and retirees looking for something to do are sure to find it a hot spot. Wear a hat and sunscreen as summer approaches and brings with it the notoriously brutal Florida heat.
Bartoli said in an interview that the Sarasota market’s mix of age groups and family sizes made it an attractive place to offer PopStroke.
“This community is thriving and growing. We have retirees and young professionals and everyone in between,” Bartoli said. “It meets all the criteria PopStroke has to offer. It’s a perfect fit for us.”
The Sarasota Popstroke is his largest venue to date, accommodating 400 people at a time. It’s also the first time he’s equipped with a rooftop bar that can be rented out for private parties, according to Bartoli.
Although Sarasota is only the company’s third location, PopStroke plans a small but mighty global domination strategy in the coming months. Hubman said he plans to open one store in Orlando next month and five more by the end of the year, including one in Tampa.
Aesthetically, Tiger Wood PopStroke is nothing like a traditional miniature golf course in a resort town. He doesn’t see a single plastic crocodile with an open mouth or a wooden pinwheel. A sleek and stylish building with lime green lawns and slate walls. And what about the miniature golf course, where tuna tartare, black bean veggie burgers and Reuben omelets are on the menu?
Of course, the only thing that could have added to the excitement of PopStroke Sarasota opening was if Woods himself showed up, shook hands with everyone, played the tougher of the two 18-hole courses, and hit the hole was In-one for every occasion. With or without Tiger Wood PopStroke has been embraced by the Sarasota community as soon as it opened.
